Document and Data Management
EEI's Digital Archiving Specialists (DASs) provide document imaging services to the US Army Reserve Command (USAR). They have scanned hundreds of thousands of pages, helping Readiness Reserve Commands to decrease the amount of paper they use, and free up premium storage space. Converting paper documents to electronic files allows our customers to easily find, access and share information. These services have also been provided to Fort Leavenworth, Fort Sill, Fort Benning, Camp Lejeune and EFAMED Naples.
Our senior Document Archiving Specialist accompanied USARC personnel to Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, to provide assistance in performing an Environmental Baseline Survey (EBS). Several historical documents and previous EBSs were digitized to provide team members with information necessary to complete the new EBS.
We are currently involved in a project that will assist our customers in searching and accessing their digitized documents even more easily. By providing our customers with access to their files by a digital library, the user is able to use any search term (word, phrase, title, name, subject) to search the entire collection. Digital libraries can provide very user-friendly interfaces, giving clickable access to its resources at any time. A particular digital library can provide a link to any other resources of other digital libraries very easily; thus a seamlessly integrated resource sharing can be achieved.
